The Learning Community, an innovative urban K-8 charter school with 82% of students that qualify for free or reduced-price lunch/the proxy for poverty rate, 34% English Language Learners and high student achievement, is a warm and welcoming school that believes deeply in the voices of teachers, students and families. TEACHERS: We seek creative, energetic teachers who are familiar with, or open to learning a Workshop structure institutional approach, who work collaboratively and plan thoughtfully, and who are interested in being part of a close-knit school community with opportunities for growth. Our rigorous curriculum emphasizes literacy and numeracy as a leadership tool to grow student independence and voice. Our teachers enjoy tremendous autonomy, collaboration and leadership. All candidates must have teacher certification. Spanish language skills a plus.
