The International Educator (TIE)

Company Overview

THE INTERNATIONAL EDUCATOR (TIE) is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to serving International Schools all over the world by helping them find qualified teachers. TIE links thousands of English-speaking teachers to worldwide opportunities in over 400 American Overseas and International Schools around the world. TIE does this through a comprehensive online service and a newspaper issued 5 times throughout the year. The schools themselves place and pay for their ads in TIE, and they control their online ads which are updated regularly.

Company History

Established in 1985, The International Educator (TIE) was created to fill a need for teachers who desired an exciting and rewarding experience teaching abroad. The company's founder, Forrest Broman, just returned from overseas after a career spanning several decades heading-up and directing international schools around the world. He realized very few teachers in the US, Canada and other English-speaking countries were aware of the opportunities that existed to teach their subject in English at these remarkable, private international schools.

Dedicated to getting the word out to teachers and helping international schools staff their schools, TIE was born.

The Intenrational Educator (TIE) is a non-profit organization and belongs to the parent company, Overseas Schools Assistance Corporation (OSAC). Other comapnies that fall under the OSAC auspices include: The Principals' Training Center (PTC), The Teacher Training Center (TTC), Business Training Center (BTC) and Counselor Training Center (CTC).
