Our History
In 2005, Founder and Head of School, Jean Kim, was seeking classical education opportunities for her own children. As a Yale graduate, educator, educational researcher at The John Jay Institute, and mother of three, she knew that America’s failing educational system was unlikely to produce the virtuous scholars and servant leaders that she wished her children to become. In 2006, under Mrs. Kim’s leadership and with the support of a few families, The Cambridge School was established to provide San Diego families with a unique local educational option that provides the rare combination of academic rigor and a robust Christian faith using time-tested methods to achieve distinctive educational goals.
