Company Overview
Misr American College is a private school owned by a family which has been involved in education in Egypt for over forty years. M.A.C. is part of an operation that includes three other schools and Misr International University. We are located at 20 Tunis Street in the area of New Maadi. This thriving suburban area is south of downtown Cairo on the eastern bank of the Nile River. From our area to the center of Cairo it is 25 minutes by the Metro or a 45 minute taxi ride. Maadi is one of the greenest areas of Cairo with many expats living in the vicinity.
Almost all of our 420 students are Egyptian nationals. Our students are polite, co-operative, and eager to learn and aspire to be successful in life and in their post-secondary studies on completion of their formal education.
We provide a modified American Curriculum that is based on US standards and benchmarks that is taught in English. The resources we use are American textbooks in Language Arts and English, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science. Our students also learn Arabic, Art, Computers, French, Music and Physical Education.
Benefits
Housing: A housing allowance is allocated as part of the school's compensation package. The allowance is 2700 LE($500) for a single and 5400LE ($ 1000) for a teaching couple).
Settling in Allowance: Upon arrival in Egypt the school will issue you a settling in allowance of $300 US.
Airfare: The school will reimburse you for your air tickets on arrival with proof of purchase. .Your contract also provides for annual home leave airfare.
