The Department consists of 27 full-time faculty in pure and applied mathematics, mathematics education, statistics, and computer science. There are active computer science research programs in Ubiquitous Computing, Databases, Computer Systems, and Bioinformatics. The department places emphasis on: basic, applied and collaborative research; teaching; and interdisciplinary programs. Our faculty maintain close ties with the Medical College of Wisconsin, University of Wisconsin--Milwaukee, and other regional institutions and industrial partners.
